This month is generally referred to as the women’s month in many countries but the culmination of it all happens on the 8th of March where women across the globe celebrate the International Women’s Day. With the theme , Press For Progress, this is a time to look at how far women have come in respect to gender equality in all spheres of life.
There will be several events across the globe to mark this special occasion for women, but If you’re in Kenya, I’ve sampled just a few of them where you can attend and engage in the conversations revolving around gender equality.
1. International Women’s Day Conference
This will be taking place on the 7th of March at the Laico Regency Hotel where women in business will be discussing among other things, the access to markets, Operationalization of the 30% procurement rule, Financing options and the interest cap rate effects 3. Inter- county trading- Women and Devolution and the mentioning of the Kenya Female heroines.

2. International Women’s Day Event By UNESCO
This will take place on the 8th of March at the University of Nairobi Towers at Mini Theater 2 located on the fourth floor. The discussion topics will revolve around;
- Maintaining a gender parity mind set in the world of Technology
- Challenging gender stereotypes and bias against women’s involvement in Technology
- Forging positive visibility for women in Technology
- Influence others’ beliefs / actions
- Celebrating the Achievement of women in Technology

3. International Women’s Day Breakfast
Danielle Solutions Limited in Partnership with The Concord Hotel & Suites and partners will be hosting a Ladies Breakfast to explore how different women are pressing for progress.
The breakfast will be from 7.30 am t0 10.30 am
CHARGES: KES 2000 for early bird and KES 2500 at the gate. Vendors will be required to pay KES 3000 per table.
