This week, we spotlight yet another awesome lady who finds passion in creating memorable events for her clients. I met her when I was hosted as a visitor at BNI Legacy Chapter and the enthusiasm and drive she had for her work drove me to get to know her more.

Meet Lynkie Kangethe , a renowned Kenyan Entrepreneur and The Chief Executive Officer of Lynkie Events Ltd. She enjoys building brands which are aligned to a greater purpose and passionate about education and Entrepreneurship development especially with the youth. Lynkie firmly believes in Excellence and would like to use her work to enable people experience it as it looks like.

How Did Lynkie Events Come About?

My Career in corporate Events Management spans to over 5 years working with both Local and international Companies. I started Lynkie Events Ltd by merely fulfilling God’s purpose. This is what I was created to do. Events to me is an addition, obsession, name it. It wakes me up in the night writing on clients projects and how to build their brands and wow them in their event. I love what I do dearly.

What Does Your Company Do?

Lynkie Events is a corporate Events management Company incorporated in Kenya. We specialize in end to end management of an Event including conceptualization, design, planning, supplier management and onsite organization.

What Would You Consider As Your Most Significant Accomplishment So Far?

Wow! This excites me. We have launched several Companies/Brands that are now unstoppable in the market and changing the way Entrepreneurs do business. One of them is Global Network Investment by Sarah Karingi. From when we launched out her company in 2015 to now, she has received numerous awards in Africa and the world at large. She won the award for The Best Woman Networker in East Africa and also The Voice Achievers Award in Amsterdam. It’s fulling when you Conceptualize Brands that are competing with the world.

What Challenges Do You Experience While Running This Business?

Events is some piece of work and yes challenges are there especially when you have suppliers who don’t take work seriously, that’s why we have a supplier officer who keeps ironing them out to ensure all suppliers fulfill their mandate.

What’s Next For Lynkie Events?

To be the Event management company of Choice in Africa. We have outlined a strategic plan to disrupt the event management industry in Kenya by injecting professionalism and Excellence into the market. With a strong execution Team accountable to the Board of Directors, we sort the support of external strategy consultants to guide us through the process. The results of the process is a robust strategy plan anchored on the 5Ts pillars of Talent, Transformation, Technology, Top line and Thought Leadership.

Any Advice For Women Who Would Want To Pursue A Career In Event Management

It’s an amazing profession to undertake but with the work involved, one needs to sleeve up. People enjoy the end product during the Event but the work put in requires a lot of sacrifice. You can imagine a wedding takes only 6 hours in a day but takes months of preparation.
